My name is Zachary Landau, and this is my portfolio.
Animal Edit 001
The enclosure for these elephants was indoors and in poor light. As such, manipulating the coloring by exaggerating the vibrancy and cooling the color balance created a forced effect where the subjects are pushed out of focus. The metal bars also needed to be manipulated as they carried too much of a heavy sheen.
Color Study 001
This photo was sent over social media on a five-year-old phone. I wanted to pull out the rust colors in the picture while also improving on its quality. Fortunately, efforts to improve its quality (by increasing its sharpness, for example) also added a texture that made the color balancing more dramatic and visceral.
Color Study 002
This picture was given to me over social media on an older phone. The color balance was much cooler than this. I decided to make the picture warmer in order to bring out the color in the tiling and ceiling while maintaining the dramatic lighting. The rust colors were also easy to add some vibrancy too because of the push towards a more warmer tone.
